Prince Harry paid an unexpected visit to China at the same time King Charles touched down in Canada for a state visit.

The Duke of Sussex he made the journey yesterday for a tourism convention in Shanghai where he promoted sustainable travel.

During his inaugural trip to the nation, Harry addressed audiences as part of his duties with Travalyst, the organization he cofounded aimed at encouraging eco-friendly modes of travel.

His older brother Prince William made a similar diplomatic trip to China ten years ago, marking the first official royal visit in 30 years.

In the meantime, Harry's distant father Charles dropped by Canada yesterday accompanied by his spouse. Queen Camilla to be present at the State Opening at the Parliament in Ottawa — signifying the first instance where the monarch has attended since his mother, Queen Elizabeth, did in 1977.

As Charles and Camilla stepped off their flight from the UK, they were welcomed with cries of 'welcome home.'

The two-day visit to Canada has been labeled 'momentous' because of the strong display of support for the nation, amid ongoing disputes with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding sovereignty issues.

Before the journey, Charles supposedly expressed concern over the escalating tensions between Canada and the US.

While addressing the Envision 2025 Global Partner Conference, Harry urged the travel sector to step up efforts in achieving their climate change goals before the conclusion of this decade.

Discussing the issue at the conference, the Prince said: 'Climate change isn't just an environmental challenge – it's a critical business emergency, costing the global economy $143billion dollars annually.

'Now is the moment for the industry to reaffirm its commitment to being a force for good.

'Challenges will undoubtedly rise, but if there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's that meaningful change never comes easily.

'The true measure of our commitment is how we respond when the path becomes difficult. We must never give up.'

During his 20th trip to Canada, Charles encountered throngs of people eager to express their appreciation and thankfulness directly to him.

The monarch, serving as the head of state for Canada, is expected to engage with Indigenous leaders and veterans when he travels alongside Camilla. This visit forms part of continuing initiatives aimed at fostering reconciliation processes.

In March, Charles convened a meeting with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau following increased pressure from the United States on the Commonwealth leader.
