The Espresso Riviera is part of Italy's tourism railway program, featuring refurbished classic trains transporting tourists to some of the nation’s most scenic locations both inside and outside its boundaries.

Travelers have the option to opt for a sleeping car featuring private compartments or go for the more budget-friendly couchettes.
The trains leave from Roma Termini station on Friday night, reaching Marseille early Saturday morning. For the return trip, the train departs from Marseille on Saturday and arrives in the Italian capital on Sunday morning.
The journey follows one of the most breathtaking coastal paths in the Mediterranean, making it worthwhile to rise early and enjoy the scenery.
Additionally, there’s a day-time option departing from Genoa that offers private lounges along with seating in both first-class and second-class compartments, giving you more time to enjoy views of the ocean.
The firm states it intends to make a change from Milan as well, which will go directly to Genoa and connect northern Italy with France right through.
Catering services will be provided throughout the journey aboard, featuring meals such as dinner and breakfast along with a bar service.
The objective is to cater not just to holidaymakers leaving the capital, who are progressively seeking a wide range of service quality options on the trains, but also to boost tourism into western Liguria. This initiative will provide a seamless service from Genoa all the way through to Ventimiglia and beyond into France,” stated Luigi Cantamessa, CEO of FS Treni Turistici Italiani.
